From 18 to 21 May 2026, the boostEDIC M&L project participated in the Transport Research Arena (TRA 2026) in Budapest, one of Europe’s leading events for transport and mobility research and innovation.
Bringing together researchers, industry representatives, public authorities and innovators from across Europe, TRA 2026 provided a valuable platform to discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of mobility and logistics. Throughout the event, boostEDIC M&L engaged with a wide range of stakeholders, presenting the project’s vision for a more connected, interoperable and data-driven European mobility and logistics ecosystem.
The project was represented at the ERTICO Pavilion, Stand B/33, where consortium members exchanged ideas with visitors and discussed the role of mobility data spaces, digital infrastructure and cross-border interoperability in supporting the future European mobility and logistics landscape.
Key topics addressed during the event included the digitalisation of transport and logistics, mobility data sharing, interoperability across systems and borders, artificial intelligence and data-driven services, as well as sustainable and connected transport solutions. These discussions closely align with the objectives of BoostEDIC M&L, which aims to support the development of a common European approach to mobility and logistics data exchange.
The project was also featured in the session “From Data to Action: Enabling Paperless and Smart Digital Enforcement Compliance in Transport & Logistics – Key Lessons and Next Steps from the EU-Funded Projects”, with the participation of Eusebiu Catana (ERTICO). During the discussion, Eusebiu highlighted how boostEDIC M&L will contribute to the deployment of the future Mobility and Logistics Data Space by addressing three key challenges. The first is interoperability, ensuring that systems, platforms and stakeholders can seamlessly exchange and understand data across transport modes and national borders. The second is governance, establishing trusted frameworks for data ownership, access rights, sovereignty and accountability, enabling secure and confident collaboration among participants. The third is compliance, leveraging trusted digital data flows to automate regulatory reporting, reduce manual checks and support real-time enforcement. The session underscored the importance of data-driven and paperless processes in creating more efficient, compliant and interoperable transport and logistics operations across Europe.
Participation in TRA 2026 represented an important opportunity for boostEDIC M&L to strengthen collaboration with stakeholders from across the mobility and logistics ecosystem, gather insights from ongoing initiatives and contribute to the broader European dialogue on digital transformation in transport.
