As part of the EU’s Multi-Country Projects framework, a European Digital Infrastructure Consortium (EDIC) is a legal entity, established by a decision of the European Commission to enable pooling of resources and efficient collaboration among Member States in implementing digital infrastructure projects.
EDIC M&L applies the principles of collaboration and resource pooling to the mobility and logistics domain. It addresses fragmentation in the data ecosystem by leveraging existing initiatives, promoting common standards and coordinated approaches, and aligning Member States, businesses, and public authorities. Building on the EMDS, EDIC M&L establishes a sustainable digital infrastructure to enable scalable, sector-specific AI and data-driven solutions.
EDIC M&L focuses on three key areas to support the development of Europe’s mobility and logistics data ecosystem:
Drive
Drive the deployment and adoption of common frameworks and standards for sharing and using mobility and logistics data.
Establish
Establish and support a sustainable common digital infrastructure for mobility and logistics data and services, enabling innovative applications, including AI-powered solutions.
Advance
Advance the implementation of the common European mobility data space (EMDS).
